2)WHAT IS THE BACKGROUND OF EACH ONE OF YOU WITH MUSIC? we've been listening to music forever. all of us got into psychedelic a couple of years ago

3)HOW DID EVERYTHING STARTED FOR CHEROUVIM? john cherouvim started from zero trying to make music with ft2 that sounded like the music that he was listening in rload(note:a very famous party in greece) after months of hard work the first good track was out in the radio and party

4)WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST APPEARANCE AS CHEROUVIM? 29-may-99 in +soda(+soda is again a famous club in greece)

5)WHAT IS THE EQUIPMENT OF YOUR STUDIO,WHAT PROGRAMS DO YOU USE AND WHAT'S THE TOTAL COST? ft2/mad/sf/cooledit/rebirth/stomper/vaz2 and lot of samples CDs that i've bought or traded with other trackers/composers we are planing to buy a synth if we get payed well from our album

6)WHICH DO YOU THINK IS THE BEST PARTY YOU HAVE EVER PLAYED? paros acrovatis club 7th aug 99

7)THE WORST? rload millennium 31-12-1999 i played only 45 minutes cause SUKI wanted to play his music and anyway the whole party was crap because there were about 2000 people at the same time in that shitty club called LOBBY

8)DESCRIBE ME AN ORDINARY DAY AND NIGHT OF YOURS. an ordinary day of me (john) here in athens when i'm on vacation is like this i get up at 10 or 11 in the morning, turn on the pc, surf the internet for a while, compose or fix a track, eat, call kostas to come to my house to compose/track together, go out for a souvlaki or something, surf the net, sleep another kind of day is when i go to my girl and stay there all day.

9)IS THERE SOMETIMES PROBLEMS BETWEEN YOU WHEN YOU ARE MAKING YOUR MUSIC? nope :)

10)HAVE YOU EVER APPEARED OTHER NAMES? nope

11)YOUR BEST SONG? lunatix probably the latest one is top quality production but the cherouvim top track should be tinkerbell or light or paradise or cyborg.. something like that

12)WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE FUTURE OF TRANCE? i'm not a fortune teller.. i dont know

13)AND WHAT ABOUT GREECE? hmmmm....

14)IS IT DIFFICULT TO BE A WELL KNOWN MUSICIAN? it feels good to see all the people talking about you, but it sucks when you realise that what all those people want is your tracks or something

15)ANY ADVICE TO NEW TRYING-TO-BE MUSICIANS? learn what your PC can do, buy samples, make samples, study music technology-sound, listen to lot of music, try hard

THE FIRST INTERVIEW IS HERE FROM INFECTED MUSHROOM. THE ANSWERS ARE FROM EREZ.I'D LIKE TO THANK INFECTED MUSHROOM AND INFECTED MAX FOR HIS HELP. ENJOY.

1)WHO ARE ARE INFECTED MUSHROOM?Infected are,Me(Erez Aizen, Haifa, Kiryat yam city,Israel)And Duvdev(Amit Duvdevani, TelAviv Area,Mishmar HaShiva).

2)WHAT IS THE BACKGROUND OF EACH ONE OF YOU WITH MUSIC?We both learned classical music since we were kids,arround the age of 5,and we hated also in that age,but today we think a bit differently.

3)HOW DID EVERYTHING STARTED FOR INFECTED MUSHROOM?We met each other with the help of a friend of us(Liran Shimshon),he was a dj at that time.It was a combination of "Shidapu" and Duvdev.We did a very fluffy music, that we DID like at that time(it is quite hard to admit it because it hearts the Ego) but again yes we used to like that kind of music at the beggining that today people call it(Victory's),la la li,la la la.Full of melodies/Arabic melodies,uplifting snares and kick drums,,bla bla bla.Then,after a time we noticed that we are making a shit music,so we thought to our selfs, "How can we make a better sound???"So,we said,"the problem is,that we don't have a good equipment!",,(we blamed the machine he he).Slowly slowly, we build the studio,and started to learn cubase,and we were getting better and better,and we bought more equipment and more and more,until today that we got almost everything we need.The only law os us was,if we make a good track we will call it infected mushroom,if we make a shity one we call it in another name,like,Shidapu+Duvdev.

4)WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST APPEARANCE AS INFECTED MUSHROOM? I can't really remember,i think it was in a small club,at Haifa area, about 300 people.

5)WHAT IS THE EQUIPMENT OF YOUR STUDIO,WHAT PROGRAMS DO YOU USE AND WHAT'S THE TOTAL COST? So,We got plenty of stuff, Intellgate(Behringer),Akai S300xl Sampler,Two digitech effect(shitty),ProTone(Spectral Audio),FreeBass(we dont use it), Dopfer System A-100,NordLead,Juno106,EnsoniqVfx,Jupiter-6,Mackie 32x8,Mic AKG Solid-tube,PC 450mhz with Gina Sound card,128mb ram, 26giga H.D, i think thats it. Ho,, And Cubase Vst 3.71,WaveLab,SoundForge,And LOTS of PLUGINS!!! The cost is really expensive, i prefer not to say a number,,, but actually, we don't need so much equipment.

6)WHICH DO YOU THINK IS THE BEST PARTY YOU HAVE EVER PLAYED? Hmm,, Hard one,!?, well, The best was i think a tsunami party at the vynle club (new york), And for an open Air party i think it was in mountain fuji ,Japan., Full on dancing in the rain!!!

7)THE WORST? This one i can say for sure, it's in israel, at tel-aviv in a club called "Vered Ha Tzela".We played over there for a very criminal people, and we was playing the last.The organizer told us to close the music because the police gave him order to stop!.So, we had no choice and we closed the music , then , Duvdev got a bottle in the head!!! , i got a bit paniced, and i saw nothing happend to duvdev so i tried to make it look like nothing serious so i started to laugh on him, and we was playing another track for making the people relax. then after the LAST LAST track was finished, some guy came on the stage and gave me a SERIOUS HIT IN THE FACE!!!, I Can say it was NOT so nice, and then all the guards jumped on the guy that hit me and they really kicked his face!!!, i started to feel sorry for that guy,,, then me and duvdev run away from the place and we said "This is the last time that we play last!!!" , it was in the time that we did the first CAT ON MUSHROOM track, with space cat(avi algernati). ETC, duvdev laugh on me back after the hit i got , he he,, i deserve it!

8)DESCRIBE ME AN ORDINARY OF YOURS: Ok, i can say about me, I'm awake at 7:30am (i know its early!!!) because my girlfriend is kicking me out of the bed to take her to the army!!! (girls in israel do 2 years of army service) , Im not doing any army, (he he) . Then, i cant go to sleep anymore so im going to the studio which is upStairs and im checking some emails, Then, im eating something small , and going back to the studio, untill 16:00 more or less, my girlfriend comes back from the army at 17:30 usualy (if she is not running a way earlier), we see a stupid movie on the cinema or at home dvd, or just doing nothing, we go to sleep againe at 20:00 untill 24:00 , Because Duvdev comes at midnight to start an infected track !!! Then we work all the night, and in the early morning we are going to eat "HuMUS" in "ako" (the best place in israel/World for humus) and we continue the track untill we are fucking tired. we usually work 2,3,4 days on a track... Duvdev is studing at the university Industrial managment, and usually he is busy with different stuff.

9)IS THERE SOMETIMES ANY PROBLEMS BETWEEN YOU WHEN YOU ARE MAKING YOUR MUSIC? We got no problems at all, but we are not allways agree with the idea's of each other allways... but in the end , every thing happen for the best.

10)HAVE YOU EVER APPEARED UNDER OTHER NAMES? As infected we got a combination like ,CatOnMushroom,DomesticMUshroom,MagicMushroom,Infected Dado,Etc... And me alone i got today only I-Zen,,, its a new project that im doing slowly slowly, i had , ShivaShidapu,Shidapu,ShivaSidPaho.

11)YOUR BEST SONG? For now is - Disco Mushroom, We like also Tomy the bat (from the first album).

12)WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE FUTURE OF TRANCE? We think it will explode for good in the next year or two, because the US involve can be really massive, even if it will be underground of the states, (the states is a big place), underground there is really massive compare to the trance scene today. We hope people will open there mind and ears!!!

13)IS IT DIFFICULT TO BE A WEEL KNOWN MUSICIAN? No.

14)ANY ADVICE TO NEW TRYING-TO-BE MUSICIANS? Yes!!!, Dont buy much equipment!!! all you need to make music for the beginnig is : Nord Lead,Akai S3000xl Sampler,Gina SoundCard,24/8Mackie MixingDesk,Fast Computer with 128mb ram,Lots of Direct-X Plugins. This is more than enough!!! Try to get new software like, Reactor,Reallity,Rebirth,WaveLab,SoundForge,Cubase vst(the newest you can get) ,and agine PLUGINS! We are not using any external effect proccesors, all the effects are from the Pc plugins only!!! which are much much better.

15)ANYTHING TO SAY TO YOUR FANS? Please keep your mind open.Because as infected we are trying to change our style every album we do.So don't hate us because you are buying the classical mushroom cd and saying to your self,,, "Hi, It's not like the gathering, what is that??? , it's shit!!! ".Give us a chance, we are working very hard to make a difference in the trance scene that may be in the future will be bigger and bigger!!! , We Love trance!!!
